Fire damages part of Haeger Potteries in East Dundee as village plans sale to developer
A fire damaged part of the former Haeger Potteries in East Dundee, where the village is selling the site for redevelopment. Firefighters quickly extinguished the small blaze, which occurred near the old kilns and retail shop. The East Dundee Village Board recently approved negotiations with Brinshore Development, which plans to buy the site for $1. The redevelopment will include 136 new apartments and townhouses, with some existing buildings to be renovated. Haeger Potteries has been vacant since 2016. The redevelopment aims to honor the site's history with a Haeger Preservation Plaza, while also addressing the property's disrepair.
