Fin whale skeleton to be displayed in Wasilla museum

A 47-foot fin whale that washed ashore in Anchorage last November will be moved to a museum in Wasilla for educational display. The whale has been on the mudflats for four months, and scientists are still investigating its cause of death. The Museum of Alaska plans to process the whale's skeleton for a future exhibit. The museum's curator, James Grogan, aims to create a natural history exhibition to attract more students. In late March, a team will catalog the whale's bones and transport them to Wasilla. Grogan is consulting with experts on the whale's cultural significance and the best processing methods.
