The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed a case against PTI leader Shahbaz Gill and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan for allegedly spreading doctored images and videos of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Gill and Riaz face charges under Pakistan's PECA 2016, which could lead to up to seven years in prison and fines. The FIA has also arrested two additional suspects and previously detained five others in connection with the case. The investigation revealed that around 20 social media accounts were involved in sharing manipulated content, which aimed to damage Pakistan's relations with international figures. Gill is currently in the US, while Riaz is also believed to have left the country.
