Many have noted that it sounds similar to the V-6 in the 296 GTB, lacking the high-revving excitement of earlier Ferrari models. Despite the engine's sound, all 799 units of the $4 million F80 have been sold. Ferrari continues to offer V-12 options with models like the Daytona SP3 for those who prefer that engine type.
