FBI seeks information on Iranian officers linked to Robert Levinson's abduction
The FBI has released posters seeking information on two Iranian intelligence officers, Mohammad Baseri and Ahmad Khazai, linked to the 2007 abduction of Robert Levinson. This marks a new effort in a long investigation into Levinson's disappearance. Levinson, a retired FBI agent, was last seen in Iran in March 2007. U.S. officials believe he was abducted during a CIA mission and may have died, as intelligence suggested in 2020. The U.S. Treasury sanctioned Baseri and Khazai in 2020, accusing them of authorizing Levinson's abduction. The State Department is offering a reward of up to $20 million for information leading to Levinson's recovery.
