Father convicted of murdering 8-month-old daughter, Sacramento

A Sacramento County jury has convicted Alexander Echeverria of second-degree murder in the death of his 8-month-old daughter, Alexia Rose. He was also found guilty of assault on a child resulting in death. Echeverria took Alexia from Sacramento to Southern California in May 2019. Her body was discovered abandoned the next day, with an autopsy revealing she died from blunt force trauma. Echeverria fled to Mexico but was later extradited to Sacramento County.
