Father charged with raping 13-year-old daughter in Ludhiana

A father has been charged with raping his 13-year-old daughter in Ludhiana. The police received a complaint from the girl’s mother, who left her daughter and husband at home while visiting her sister in Delhi on March 21. On March 22, the daughter called her mother from a neighbor’s phone. She told her mother that her father had raped her and asked for help. The mother then called her husband, who admitted to the crime and apologized. After returning home, the mother confronted her husband again. He apologized once more and then left the house. When he did not return, the mother filed a complaint with the police. The police registered a case against the father under relevant laws for rape and child protection. An investigation is underway, and a search for the father is ongoing. He is originally from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, and had been living in Ludhiana for three years.
