Father and son die by suicide in Maharashtra over smartphone request

A farmer and his son died by suicide in Minaki village, Maharashtra, after the boy requested a smartphone that his father could not afford. The father was struggling with loan repayments for their farm and vehicle. The boy had repeatedly asked for the phone, and after his father declined again, he left home. When the father found his son had died by suicide, he also took his own life. Police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
