Extremadura launches design tender for new Cáceres aerodrome

Extremadura has approved the design tender for a new restricted-use aerodrome near Cáceres, marking a significant step towards its construction. The regional government has allocated €225,000 for the project design, which will guide authorization processes, including environmental impact and air traffic compatibility. The aerodrome will feature a main runway, hangars, and specialized areas for gliding and model aircraft. The facility, located eight kilometers west of Cáceres, will also include a helipad for emergency services and will be equipped with navigation aids and firefighting capabilities. The design phase is expected to take 34 months.
