Extremadura Health Service dismisses managers of three health areas

The Extremadura Health Service (SES) has dismissed the managers of three of its eight health areas: Demetrio Pérez Civantos in Badajoz, Jesús Gallo Elorza in Mérida, and Eulalia Poveda Lozano in Don Benito-Villanueva de la Serena. The Health Ministry cited "organizational decisions" aimed at strengthening management capacity and addressing current challenges, thanking the dismissed officials for their work. All three were appointed in 2023 following María Guardiola's arrival as regional president. The ministry stated no further senior dismissals are planned and new managers will be announced soon. This follows a series of leadership changes since 2023, including resignations and dismissals across various SES positions, with Encarnación Solís Pérez recently appointed as the new general manager.
