rfi.fr (Portuguese)

A drone carrying a large amount of explosives crashed in Bulgaria near the Romanian border and a trans-Balkan pipeline on Saturday, exploding without causing casualties; PM Radev said neither country detected it. Radev said it exploded near Kardam border crossing with Romania, 1,000 meters from a compressor station on the pipeline connecting Turkey to Ukraine. Authorities are examining the device to determine its origin; he said it was not a recreational drone but a larger one. This is Bulgaria’s first such incident, though drone incursions are frequent in Romania. After Romania downed Russian drones, Bulgaria reinforced radar; it has refused military support to Ukraine.
