Exeter police arrest man after rapes, sexual assault

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Exeter on suspicion of rape and sexual assault following two serious incidents reported Friday night. He is currently in custody. The first incident involved the rape of a 16-year-old girl on Clyst Halt Avenue. Shortly after, a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on a train platform and then on a train. Police are appealing for witnesses and have increased their presence near Digby and Sowton Station, where the incidents occurred. Investigations are ongoing, and the victims are receiving support.
