Excel users create drop-down lists for faster data entry

zdnet.com

Excel drop-down lists can significantly speed up data entry and reduce errors by providing pre-defined options within cells. This feature is accessed through the Data Validation tool. To create a drop-down, users select cells, navigate to the Data tab, and choose Data Validation, then select "List" as the criteria. Options are entered, separated by commas, in the Source field. This feature is available in Microsoft 365 Excel, allowing users to customize lists and edit them later. While useful, it's distinct from data filtering and not yet supported by Copilot.
