Ex-THP Bina manager pleads not guilty to RM72,000 CBT abetment charges

Former THP Bina Sdn Bhd deputy general manager Tengku Kamarolhisham Tengku Kamaruddin, 55, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to three charges of abetting criminal breach of trust involving RM72,000 in contractor penalty payments. The charges allege he directed penalty payments from contractor Fourth Wave Sdn Bhd into a bank account, with offences committed at the Putrajaya Islamic Complex. He was charged under Section 109 of the Penal Code read with Section 409, which carries up to 20 years' imprisonment upon conviction. The court granted bail of RM45,000 with one surety, rejecting the prosecution's request for RM70,000. Additional conditions include monthly reporting to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and no contact with prosecution witnesses. The case is set for mention on Oct 5.
