Ex-Met Police officer jailed for fraud and theft

A former Metropolitan Police officer, Amelia Lancaster, has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for stealing a bank card from a deceased woman and making over £300 in fraudulent purchases. This included items from Deliveroo and Amazon. Lancaster, 28, also used the card details of four other individuals, including her flatmate, prior to her arrest. Her actions were discovered after a victim reported suspicious transactions linked to his card. Lancaster was dismissed from the police after her misconduct was revealed. She pleaded guilty to multiple counts of fraud and misconduct in public office. She has been ordered to pay compensation to her victims.
