Eurozone retail trade volume fell 0.3% in June 2026 from May, while EU trade dropped 0.1%, according to Eurostat first estimates, reversing May's growth. Food, drinks and tobacco sales fell 0.5% and non-food products 0.4%, while automotive fuel rose 1.5%. Finland (-1.5%), Romania (-1.2%) and Germany (-1.1%) posted the steepest monthly declines, with Luxembourg leading gains. Compared with June 2025, retail volumes increased 0.7% in the euro area and 1.2% in the EU, with Luxembourg and Sweden showing the strongest annual growth.
