EU suspends Brazilian beef imports over antibiotic rules

The European Union has suspended imports of Brazilian beef and other animal products, a move the Irish Farmers' Association says should reassure consumers about upheld standards. IFA President Francie Gorman called it a "very significant decision," urging Irish processors to capitalize on the gap. He also demanded destruction of stockpiled Brazilian beef in EU stores, noting Brazil must fundamentally change production systems to comply.
