EU GDP grew 1.5% in real terms in 2025, reaching €18.8 trillion, Eurostat reported. Germany led with 23.8% share; Portugal accounted for 1.6%. The Eurostat report showed Germany's GDP at €4.5 trillion, followed by France (15.8%) and Italy (12.0%). Portugal was also among five EU countries with budget surpluses, while Romania and Poland had the largest deficits. Growth followed modest recovery after 2020 pandemic contraction. EU GDP per capita rose to €41,620 in 2025, with Luxembourg and Ireland highest; debt remained 81.7% of GDP.
