EU creates international firefighting force to combat rising wildfires

The EU has launched its most ambitious plan to combat forest fires, creating an international firefighting force. This new force comprises 777 firefighters from 14 countries, equipped with 22 planes and 5 helicopters, strategically positioned across Europe for rapid deployment. The initiative addresses the increasing frequency and intensity of wildfires across the continent, which have burned over a million hectares in the past year.
