EU Beef Ban Unlikely to Lower Brazilian Meat Prices

Brazilian beef prices are unlikely to fall following the European Union's suspension of Brazilian meat imports, according to analysts, as the bloc represents a small share of exports. The EU halted purchases on Thursday after excluding Brazil from its list of countries complying with antimicrobial use rules. In 2025, the EU accounted for only 3.7% of Brazil's beef export volume and 5.8% of value. Analysts expect prices to rise through year-end due to increased exports to China and lower cattle supply. Brazil is also in a period of reduced livestock availability for slaughter.
