EU auditors give preliminary green light to Brazilian poultry and honey exports

EU auditors gave a preliminary positive assessment of Brazilian poultry and honey exports, potentially allowing resumption of shipments to the European market as early as November if confirmed in a report due this month. The positive preliminary finding, delivered before auditors left Brazil on Friday, indicates the country meets EU antimicrobial regulations. However, the final report must be sent to all 27 member states, and the bureaucratic process is complex and slow. Brazil was the EU's top poultry supplier in 2025, with shipments worth $763 million. Beef, fish, and eggs remain pending, and the EU's deforestation regulation takes effect December 30.
