Escalating tensions delay Pritipal Singh Hockey Fest

The 15th Olympian Pritipal Singh Hockey Festival, set to start May 10, has been postponed due to the escalating cross-border situation. The event's delay is a direct result of government advisories and safety concerns. Organizers, the Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust, cited the safety of players and spectators as the primary reason for the postponement. The festival was scheduled to run through June 1 as part of the larger Jarkhar Sports Festival. New dates for the hockey festival will be announced soon, according to Jagroop Jarkhar from Jarkhar Stadium. The postponement reflects the close monitoring of large public events amid rising regional tensions.
