Erdogan praises ICC's arrest warrants for Israeli leaders as courageous decision
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the International Criminal Court's decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant. He called it a "courageous decision" that should be supported by all member countries. The ICC announced the warrants on charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes related to the Gaza conflict. Erdogan emphasized the need for Western countries to uphold their commitments to law and justice. Erdogan has been a strong critic of Israel since its military actions in Gaza began in October 2023. Turkey, along with 52 other nations, recently urged the United Nations to halt arms sales to Israel.
