Elon Musk donates to GOP members supporting judge impeachment
Elon Musk has donated to several Republican members of Congress who support the impeachment of federal judges. This information comes from five sources familiar with the situation. Musk made the maximum legal donation of $6,600 to the campaigns of seven Republican lawmakers. These lawmakers have either endorsed the impeachment of judges or requested actions against recent court decisions that affect President Trump. One notable ruling came from Judge James E. Boasberg, who ordered the Trump administration to return planes carrying alleged gang members back to the U.S. Trump criticized the decision and suggested that Boasberg should be impeached. Musk’s donations went to Representatives Eli Crane from Arizona, Lauren Boebert from Colorado, Andy Ogles from Tennessee, Andrew Clyde from Georgia, Derrick Van Orden from Wisconsin, and Brandon Gill from Texas. He also donated to Senator Charles Grassley from Iowa. Gill has introduced impeachment articles against Boasberg for blocking Trump's use of an old law to deport those gang members. Boebert has expressed her support for these impeachment articles as well, and Musk endorsed her position on social media. Ogles stated he was honored to have Musk's support, especially after introducing a resolution that could allow Trump to run for a third term. Musk has not yet commented on this matter.
