Elon Musk donates $277 million to support Trump and Republican candidates in 2024 election cycle

Elon Musk has emerged as the largest donor in the 2024 election cycle, contributing at least $277 million to support President-elect Donald Trump and other Republican candidates. His main vehicle for donations was the America PAC, where he contributed $239 million. Musk also funded the RBG PAC, which faced criticism for using Ruth Bader Ginsburg's name in misleading ads about abortion. He donated $20.5 million to this PAC, which ran ads emphasizing Trump's stance on abortion. In addition to his PAC contributions, Musk donated $10 million to the Senate Leadership Fund and $3 million to the MAHA Alliance PAC. His rapid rise as a political donor began in July, shortly after he endorsed Trump.
