Electric camper hits 400 km range in new EV motorhome concept

A new electric camper concept claims to solve the range problem in the RV industry, achieving over 400 kilometers in road tests. The vehicle was developed by American manufacturer CityFreighter and German companies Vöhringer and Motive Development. The demonstrator, shown at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, uses the fully electric Evolve skateboard platform, offering more living space with a flat floor and lower entry height. It features a 128-kWh battery, weighs under 3.5 tons, and uses Vöhringer's Airply technology to reduce interior weight by up to 45 percent. The battery powers both driving and living areas, supports 200 kW DC fast charging, and includes solar modules. The project aims to inspire the caravan industry to rethink electric motorhome design, with partners including Opes Solar Mobility and Dometic.
