"Eephus" movie features Red Sox legends in Boston theaters

A new movie titled "Eephus" featuring former Red Sox pitcher Bill "Spaceman" Lee and announcer Joe Castiglione will be released in select theaters starting this weekend. The film focuses on a slow-paced Sunday beer league baseball game in Massachusetts. "Eephus" will screen at the Somerville Theatre, Coolidge Corner Theatre, and Dedham Community Theatre through at least March 20. Director Carson Lund and Lee will attend a Q&A session after the screening on March 15. The film is an independent project and will not be shown in major theater chains. It explores themes of baseball and community, contrasting with recent changes to local baseball fields.
