Ed Helms reveals real tooth implant removal for 'The Hangover'

Actor Ed Helms's missing tooth in The Hangover was real, not a movie effect. He removed his dental implant for the scene. Helms's natural tooth never grew in, and he had an implant placed at age 16. He confirmed with his dentist that the implant could be temporarily removed for filming. The comedian, born in Atlanta, also pursued comedy training in New York and plays banjo in a bluegrass band called The Lonesome Trio.
