Dwayne Johnson and Benny Safdie's 'Lizard Music' Gets Christmas 2027 Release
Amazon MGM Studios will release "Lizard Music," a live-action and CGI hybrid film starring Dwayne Johnson and directed by Benny Safdie, in theaters on Dec. 25, 2027. The film is based on Daniel Pinkwater's novel and follows a boy who discovers a secret late-night broadcast of music-playing lizards. Safdie wrote the script and directs the feature, which also stars Theo Clark Leber, Alicia Silverstone, Tim Heidecker, Regina Hall, Colman Domingo, Jeff Goldblum, Rachel McAdams, and Andrew Dice Clay. Johnson plays the quirky septuagenarian Chicken Man, and the cast includes his 111-year-old chicken friend Claudia, as they explore a hidden society. The project reunites Johnson and Safdie after last year's "The Smashing Machine," which marked Safdie's first solo directing effort. It will compete with other Christmas 2027 releases, including Ron Howard's "Alone at Dawn" and Nancy Meyers' "Paris Paramount."
