Duterte's lawyers delay ICC drug war case
A lawyer for victims of the drug war accused former President Duterte's legal team of using delaying tactics in the International Criminal Court (ICC) case. The ICC rejected the attempt to remove two judges, allowing proceedings to continue as scheduled, including a September confirmation hearing for crimes against humanity charges. The lawyer believes this is an effort to prolong the case. The investigation concerns Duterte's alleged responsibility for the deaths of approximately 30,000 people during his time as Davao City Mayor and President, from 2011 to 2019.
