Druzhkivka under fire: central square in ruins, homes burned out

Russian forces are systematically destroying Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region, using guided aerial bombs, FPV drones, and other weapons that have reduced the central square to ruins and left numerous buildings damaged or burned out. Photojournalist Yan Dobronosov of "Telegraph" traveled to the city on foot due to extreme difficulty of access, documenting that the central part of Druzhkivka remains a primary target, with Freedom Square repeatedly hit and new craters appearing after each attack. Anti-drone nets have been installed over some areas, but they cannot fully protect movement through the city. As of September 4, Russian positions are just over 13 kilometers from Druzhkivka, and even short trips around the city remain dangerous due to the constant threat of strikes. Despite the scale of destruction, central monuments reportedly remain in place.
