Drones hit Russian air defense unit near Sochi, explosions reported

Drones attacked an air defense unit near Sochi overnight on September 4, causing a fire in the Sirius settlement area near the Abkhazia border, according to the ASTRA Telegram channel. The target was likely a Russian S-300 or S-400 surface-to-air missile system. Local residents reported multiple explosions, and analysis of eyewitness photos indicated the fire occurred near the Psou River. This territory was previously targeted in May, and a large radar was installed on a nearby beach. Ukrainian forces also struck the Russian support ship NEFRIT in Sochi port and a landing craft in Sevastopol earlier that week.
