A drone carrying a significant amount of explosives exploded near Bulgaria’s border with Romania, about 1,000 meters from a major gas pipeline; no casualties were reported. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radew said the drone exploded near the Kardam border crossing, 1,000 meters from the Trans-Balkan pipeline compressor station linking Turkey and Ukraine. He said it was not a hobby drone but a larger one carrying a substantial explosive load. The drone’s origin and type remain unclear. It crashed into a sunflower field. Bulgaria is a NATO and EU member state.
