Drone likely from Ukraine explodes in Bulgaria near Romania border

ctvnews.ca

A drone likely from Ukraine exploded in Bulgaria near a gas pipeline after crossing from Romania, causing no casualties but prompting NATO review. The defence ministry said an initial analysis of wreckage indicated a Ukrainian “Maya” decoy drone, and the incident was likely accidental. It exploded about 100 metres inside Bulgaria, roughly 200 metres from a Romanian compressor station. The drone was not detected while flying through either country’s airspace. Bulgaria will redeploy anti-drone equipment from the Turkish border to Romania, and NATO will discuss the incident next week.
