A drone entered Bulgarian airspace from Romania on Saturday morning, August 8, and exploded about 100 meters inside the territory. Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced the incident after a Security Council meeting, saying the drone crashed in a sunflower field near the former Kardam border crossing and roughly 1,000 meters from Bulgaria's Trans-Balkan gas pipeline compressor station. The area was isolated and precautionary measures were taken, with no casualties or infrastructure damage reported, Radev said.
