An unidentified drone exploded near the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline on Bulgaria's border with Romania on Saturday, causing no casualties or damage. Its origin remains unknown. The drone entered Bulgarian airspace from Romania and detonated shortly after 5 a.m., about 200 meters from a Romanian compressor station and one kilometer from a Bulgarian one. It was not identified mid-flight; whether it is linked to Ukraine or Russia is unclear. Bulgaria and Romania are NATO and EU members. Bulgaria's president said border police will reinforce drone detection and countermeasures, while the defense minister will raise the incident at a NATO council meeting.
