cnn.gr (Greek)

A drone exploded near a natural gas pipeline in Bulgaria, close to the Romanian border, on Saturday, prompting heightened security and NATO attention. Prime Minister Rumen Radev said the drone entered from Romania and exploded around 5 a.m., roughly 100 meters inside Bulgarian territory, without being detected by either country. No casualties or damage occurred, and authorities cordoned off the area. The blast occurred about 200 meters from a Romanian compression station and one kilometer from a Bulgarian station on the Trans-Balkan pipeline. Its origin is unclear; the matter goes to a NATO meeting next week.
