A drone carrying a significant amount of explosives exploded in northeastern Bulgaria on Saturday near the Romanian border and a key gas pipeline, causing no casualties. The blast occurred near the Kardam border crossing, about 1,000 metres from a Trans-Balkan pipeline compressor station. Bulgaria’s Defence Ministry said the drone was a type widely used by the Ukrainian military but stressed no indication the incident was deliberate. Bulgaria has summoned Ukraine’s ambassador over the incident. The country halted military aid to Kyiv in June, and Rumen Radev has advocated diplomacy to end the war.
