Driver receives $1.5 million bond for fatal pedestrian accident
A Charlotte man, Mache Darby, has been given a $1.5 million bond after allegedly killing a pedestrian, Ryan Zadrozny, while driving at 105 mph on December 1, 2024. Darby was reportedly impaired at the time of the incident. During a court hearing, the victim's father urged the judge to keep Darby in jail to prevent further tragedies. Darby has a prior conviction for a similar hit-and-run incident in 2011. Despite the defense arguing for a lower bond, the judge maintained the $1.5 million amount. Darby's grandmother expressed condolences to the Zadrozny family after the hearing.
