A donkey named Nicky was rescued in Abermule after slipping 20 meters down a slope. The rescue involved about 15 firefighters and a vet, using an inflatable sled to guide her across a river. The operation began just before 09:00 GMT on Sunday and lasted around three hours. Nicky was sedated for her safety during the move back to her field. Photos taken after the rescue showed Nicky appeared unharmed. The operation included teams from Montgomery, Newtown, Welshpool, and Rhayader.
