Doctor describes 'bitter imprint' at Psatha helicopter crash site

A doctor who was the first to arrive at the crash site of two firefighting helicopters in Psatha described the scene as a bitter imprint, stating the aircraft had disintegrated and was burning. He witnessed the mid-air collision in real time and rushed to assist, but the two pilots had already died. The doctor, Giorgos Doulas, explained that thick smoke and toxic gases from the burning fuel made it difficult to locate the pilots, and he noted the danger of chemical burns from inhalation. He confirmed there was a double explosion, with the second occurring 3-4 seconds after the first, indicating impact. He stated that both pilots were brought to him as polytrauma victims, but he deferred further details to the 251 Air Force Hospital. He added this was only the second global incident of firefighting helicopters colliding at an intervention site.
