DMDK leader calls for ₹10,000 relief for each ration card holder in Tamil Nadu
Premallatha Vijayakant, general secretary of the DMDK party, has demanded ₹10,000 in relief for each ration card holder due to damage from heavy rains in Tamil Nadu. She made this request during a demonstration in Salem district. Vijayakant criticized the government for inadequate preparation for the rains, which led to flooding in Cuddalore. She also called for the Goods and Services Tax on the weaving industry to be reduced or revoked, citing financial strain on workers. Additionally, she commented on the One Nation One Election bill, stating it could impact the future of the country. She expressed condolences for the passing of Congress leader E.V.K.S. Elangovan and noted the upcoming by-election in Erode East.
