DJI launches Air 3S drone with LiDAR and enhanced low-light capabilities

DJI has launched the Air 3S drone, featuring a new LiDAR sensor for enhanced night-time obstacle avoidance and a larger 50-megapixel main camera for improved low-light video quality. The drone retains the $1,099 price of its predecessor, the Air 3. The Air 3S includes DJI's ActiveTrack 360 for dynamic subject tracking and boasts 42GB of internal storage, a significant upgrade from the previous model's 8GB. It can reach speeds of 45 mph and has a battery life of up to 45 minutes. Testing revealed that the Air 3S effectively avoids obstacles, even in low light, though it may struggle with small objects. The video quality is high, with 4K recording capabilities and a dynamic range comparable to high-end cameras.
