DJ Gunalan Morgan charged with sex-related offences in Singapore
Gunalan Morgan, a popular Tamil-language actor and radio DJ from Singapore, has been charged with several sex-related offences. These include sexual communication with a minor. He now faces a total of seven charges, four of which relate directly to these offences. The State Courts have issued a gag order to protect the identities of the three alleged victims and the locations where the events reportedly took place. Gunalan, who works for Mediacorp’s Tamil radio station, has been suspended from his job. The company has also served him with a termination notice. In court, Gunalan did not enter a plea. He mentioned his intention to hire a lawyer for his case. The charges include that he engaged in inappropriate conversations with a minor between late August 2024. He is also accused of deleting conversations on Instagram after learning that a police report had been filed against him. This could be classified as obstructing justice. Next, Gunalan is set to return to court on April 21. If convicted of sexual communication with a minor, he could face up to two years in prison, a fine, or both. The other charges carry significant penalties as well.
