Distrito Federal's literary prize, Premio Candango, accepts submissions

The Premio Candango de Literatura, a literary prize in the Distrito Federal, has opened submissions for its second edition, offering R$195,000 in prizes. The award, a collaboration between the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy and the Casa de Autores Institute, recognizes literary works, editorial projects, and reading promotion initiatives launched in 2024. Eligible works include novels, short story collections, and poetry books published in Portuguese. The prize also includes categories for best graphic design, book cover, and reading promotion project, with a special award for authors born or residing in the Distrito Federal.
