The director of Karate Kid: Legends confirmed Jaden Smith's Dre Parker from the 2010 film exists within the franchise's universe. However, Dre won't be featured in the new movie. Jonathan Entwistle clarified that Dre Parker is still considered canon, though he won't be directly referenced in the upcoming film. Mr. Han, Dre's mentor from the 2010 movie, will appear in Karate Kid: Legends. The new film will feature Daniel LaRusso, and there's potential for Smith to return in future installments.
