Digital vehicle registration now available on smartphones

A new app allows drivers to store their vehicle registration certificate digitally on their smartphones. This digital version is now valid for traffic stops. The i-Kfz app, developed by the Federal Motor Transport Authority and Bundesdruckerei, enables drivers to download and present their vehicle registration digitally. This eliminates the need to carry the physical document. While convenient, authorities advise keeping the paper version for now, especially for international travel, as not all police departments are fully updated on the digital format.
