Digantara launches MOSAIC, India's sovereign space-surveillance network
Digantara, a Bengaluru-based space domain awareness company, launched MOSAIC, an AI-powered optical sensor network providing continuous, real-time custody of objects in Low Earth Orbit. This sovereign capability, built in India, reduces reliance on foreign commercial providers for time-critical orbital tracking. The network extends Digantara's existing Space Domain Awareness infrastructure, which includes space-based tracking and data fusion through an in-house processing engine. MOSAIC serves as the wide-area detection layer, feeding data to detect, characterize, and maintain track of objects across orbital regimes from LEO to GEO. CEO Anirudh Sharma emphasized building many resilient systems rather than one perfect one, aiming to proliferate sensors worldwide for independent catalogue maintenance. The launch follows Digantara's $50 million funding round for 15 space-based surveillance satellites.
