Dick Vitale returns to ESPN broadcasting after cancer recovery
Dick Vitale will return to broadcasting on Saturday after a long battle with cancer. The 85-year-old will call the Duke/Clemson game, marking his first appearance since the 2023 National Championship game. Vitale has faced four types of cancer over the past three and a half years. He recently received good news from his doctor, confirming no cancer in his voice box after multiple surgeries and treatments. Despite needing some activity restrictions, Vitale's doctor stated his vocal cords are in good condition. Vitale has been a prominent figure at ESPN since 1979 and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.
