Diamond DA20 aircraft gains popularity with updated features and strong safety record

The Diamond DA20, a two-seat aircraft, has been popular since its introduction in 1994. Initially produced in Austria, it is now made in Canada, with over 1,000 units sold. The latest model, the DA20-C1, features a Garmin G500 glass panel. The DA20 is known for its low operating costs, burning 3.2-5.3 gallons of fuel per hour, compared to 7-9 gallons for a Cessna 172. It offers excellent cockpit visibility and is favored by flight schools for its forgiving nature and ergonomic design. Recent updates include EASA certification for night VFR flying in Europe, although similar FAA regulations in the U.S. remain unchanged.
